Built in 1920 by Gilded Age architect John Russell Pope, whose commissioned works included The Jefferson Memorial, the National Gallery of Art and "The Waves" in Newport, RI, for George Hewitt Myers, heir to the Bristol-Myers pharmaceutical fortune.

Sited on 10 elevated acres of lovely landscaped grounds with unparalleled ocean views and expansive white sand beaches with private boardwalk across the dunes leading to 900 linear feet of pristine ocean beach offering a unique and private summer paradise.
Located on East Beach, a scenic 3 mile stretch encompassing some of the most beautiful and pristine Atlantic Ocean seashore found anywhere on the East Coast. Extremely limited parking and restricted public access makes this a rarity for those seeking beachfront living in a quieter and less public setting.

The Manor House:
Gracious 9800 sq ft of refined living with a total of 5 bedrooms, 7 full and 2 half bathrooms, including a luxurious second floor master suite with a private porch that offers stunning views of the ocean. It features a sitting room, comfortable study, master bedroom with fireplace, as well as, an additional private sleeping area with pull-out queen couch, sink and desk with fabulous ocean views providing flexible space to accommodate your family's needs. The master bath is luxurious and has double sinks, deep soaking tub and steam shower. There is also a princess perfect bedroom and full bath in the stone turret that is truly adorable!
Patios and porches surrounded by seaside gardens and walled stone terraces further add to your living space and provide quiet places to enjoy the sweeping views of Block Island and Montauk Point. To reach "The Timbers", follow a long driveway to a large auto court with a 3-car garage. Stairs on the left lead to the Manor House’s outdoor patio, where parties are often held. Stairs on the right guide you to a covered porch with a fantastic view of the ocean. The center stairs lead to a classic vestibule and then into a dramatic foyer with an elegant chandelier. With this estate’s interior castle-like atmosphere composed of large rooms, high ceilings, exposed beams, brick fireplaces, and chandeliers throughout, you’ll feel transported back in history. From its magical turret and roof-top deck observatory you can see the famous summer estates of Watch Hill dotted along the miles of pure white sand coastline, the white-water views of the Atlantic Ocean, The Ocean House, the historic Watch Hill Lighthouse and charming center of town.
Once inside, you will discover a spectacular and dramatic 2-story living room with a stone fireplace and plenty of seating to accommodate your family and guests. Built-in ocean-view loft seating with library on the second-floor landing serves as a great spot to read or enjoy some quiet time.
Climb a few steps from the living room to reach the dining room, which features a bar, long table with chairs, and an adjacent smaller table with built-in seating which is perfect for small gatherings or parties of up to 30 people! A pantry leads to a true gourmet kitchen with limestone flooring and doors that open onto a dining patio with wonderful ocean views which is perfect for grilling and al fresco dining. In addition to original wooden cabinets, 2 deep sinks, a fabulous French blue Corneau gas stove, and plenty of counter space, there are 2 hidden refrigerators that blend in with the cabinetry. There are also 2 more lighted pantries and an original ice box, which has been electrified. When dinner or a cocktail party is about to begin, simply pull a rope to ring the tower bell in the front of the house to alert everyone at the estate! On the ground level, the main house also features a media room with windows to view the ocean beyond. This room also has a secret tunnel passageway that leads to the nearby Tennis Cottage.
